The aquarium plant Echinodorus grandiflorus was known by the synonym "E. argentinensis"  for many years.  It is one of the largest growing sword plant varieties.  Native to South America, the Rangeri Sword, as it is also commonly know in the trade, is popular as an aquarium plant. Echinodorus grandiflorus is best used as a background plant in the aquarium.  Echinodorus grandiflorus can also be grown emersed as a water garden plant and will reach several feet in height.  It is even tolerant enough of dry air that it can be used as a house plant.  Small white flowers are born on long stalks, from which plantlets of Echinodorus grandiflorus will form.  Like all Echinodorus sp., it is a heavy feeder that does best with regular fertilization.
